Brother Johnston in our ward loves to make wood toys for kids. He has given just about every child in our ward at least one toy. He and his wife brought over a toy for each of the kids and they were all so excited. He really does a nice job and we are so grateful for his kindness and generosity!
He chooses not to paint or stain the toys because he says he never can get the color right for the child. Our kids were so anxious to paint their toys that they didn't waste anytime jumping right in to the paint. Josie loves blue and went right to work on her cute little rocking chair. (Before painting it, she would constantly sit on it like it was made for her little bum. It was so cute!)
Didn't she do a great job?
This is Mason's car that he painted with mult-colors.
It is very unique!

Carter ventured for a solid red car.
Chloe had a cute little school desk, that she opted to leave the raw wood until she could decide what to do with it. All the kids have really enjoyed their special toys. Brother Johnston makes about 400-600 wood cars that he donates to the humanitarian center every year. I was really impressed by his service and generosity. He is a great example and there are thousands of children who have been blessed by his efforts. What a legacy he is leaving and an inspiration!
Thanks Brother & Sister Johnston!
This great couple have been in the community for a while. Sister Johnston used to be my young women's leader. It is so neat to see them still serving whole heartedly.
