Let's Go Fly a Kite!

Memaw works at Toy Town and every Tuesday they have arts and crafts that we can participate in.  This week we made kites, and boy were they fun!
We got to use these marker paints to decorate our kites with.  They kind of reminded me of roll-on deoderant.  (Do they still make that stuff?)  Anyway, they work well for the kids.

After the kite decorating, Josie found a few of her favorite things at Toy Town.  The jewelry.
Last week we did face painting, and they carried over the face painting to today as well.  Chloe has a very lovely lady bug on her cheek.  She also decided to dress up fancy, once we got home.
Dressing up is one of our all-time favorite things to do as a family.  Just grab whatever you can
and put it on...like this...
Any ideas what Mason might be???
Any ideas what Josie might be???
And back to the kites...since the wind picked up.

Josie became a little frustrated that her kite just layed there.
Chloe shows her that you've gotta run and lift.
And as Chloe would say, "Oh, yeah!"
My guess is that Mason is having a blast.
I love this picture!  He's caught in mid air...and lifting off.
Daddy comes home just in time to witness this high-flying adventure!
Josie concentrates ever so carefully on letting out more string.  Where are those round string rolls that you put your fingers in and is smoothly lets out the string?
Carter lets out all his string...boy those kites really fly!
 Finally, a happy girl!
Go Josie!  She did such a great job holding up the kite!  They were really high in the sky.
Is it a bird?  Is it a plane?  Oh, it's just my kite really high in the sky.
I can see better with just one eye, the sky is so bright!

Even Daddy is impressed with the craftsmanship of these kites.
They are the best flying kites we have ever had!
 Deep thoughts.
What a fun day!  Josie is exceptionally glad now, because she has gum!
How come things that we loved to do as kids are so much more fun when you are doing it with your own children?  They have such enthusiasm, excitement, energy and great facial expressions.

Birthday Fun

Our nephew and cousin Riley just turned 5!

Happy Birthday Riley!

We celebrated by going bowling.  It was a first time bowling for our kids and we all had a great time.

Riley loves the movie How To Train Your Dragon.  Yummy cake too!
 Riley, the birthday boy.
 Mason really had a blast.

He knocked down a couple pins and did a little jig.
Josie had a great time also.  She really had to work her muscles to lift and carry that big ball!

Carter didn't have as much fun as he could have, because he was so worried about being the best.  He kept telling me, "Mom, I'm the oldest kid here and I am doing the worst!"  He did a great job for the first time and needed to give himself a break.  Poor kid, he is a perfectionist and I have no idea where he got that!
Chloe gave it her all, as she always does.  She just jumps right in and does her best.

She does a little victory jig as well.
Gotta love bowling shoes!  I think putting these shoes on was just as much fun as bowling!
Carter
Josie (She wore the smallest size that they had.  7)
 Mason
All the kids enjoyed watching Riley open his presents.
And then a great big group Happy Birthday Hug!
We love you Riley!  We had a great day!

Macaroni & Sleeping

Sleeping children, are some of the most precious pictures I have.  I love the serenity captured and the innocent faces.  You can literally see how precious these children of God really are.

Josie was starting to eat some macaroni and cheese for lunch, while wearing Mason's pajamas, and just couldn't muster up enough energy to finish.  She finally gave in and just peacefully fell into slumber.  I love the tiny bit of macaroni & cheese juice that has sweetly crusted itself on her lips.  Don't you just want to kiss that little cheek?  I love this little girl.

Hide & Seek

Tonight for Family Home Evening, we played Hide & Seek.  The kids really enjoy playing this game.  We played several rounds and then the kids all picked their favorite spots to hide.  As Memaw returned home from work, they all ran to their favorite spots and waited for Memaw to find them.  Here is what she found or will soon find...

Josie hiding in the corner cupboard.
Chloe hiding behind the couch cushions.
Mason in the rooster quilt stand.
 Carter in the laundry basket.
He is wearing the yellow sweats and green shirt, but it blends right in with the clothes.
It was another "Best Night EVER!" nights.
Our kids are at really fun ages right now.  We can play together and have lots of fun as a family.
We hope for a lot more of these fun times ahead.

Cub Scouts to KMVT

Carter's Cub Scout Pack took a trip to KMVT,
our local television station.  They toured the tv set and learned
about the weather from the weather reporter.
Carter was quite fascinated with everything!
And a funny face picture for good measure.
I am so grateful for the scouting program and the leaders!

16th Ward Auction & Carnival

The Twin Falls 16th Ward had a Silent Auction and Carnival.
Memaw donated a baby quilt that seemed to be the hit of the night.  Ladies were at war over that thing.  It went for $60.  I made a Cookie Basket with about 7 dozen homemade cookies.  It wasn't very exciting.  Matt donated this painting, although he made some additions to the painting
and we never got a picture of the finished product.  I would have loved to have this painting on my wall.
He titled it, Winter Willows.
The kids had a really fun time at the carnival.  They had dress up clothes for pictures.
This is Carter and his friend Adam.
Chloe and her friend Madie.  Lovely princesses.
Mason as a knight in shining armor...looking for his sword!
This was one of the best booths.  At least the sweetest.  Carter said he won it 3 times...I am not exactly sure how many times he played it.  Mason couldn't stop smiling so he had a hard time taking a bite.

Finally!  Oh, how I wish I could take a bite of that doughnut right now!
Great times!
