Spirit Week at Cielo Azul

This week was "Spirit Week" at the Sue Cleveland High School. The elementary schools were invited to participate in the daily dress-up "themes." Carter and Chloe were excited the first day. They got to dress up in anything that started with the letters S-T-O-R-M. (The mascott of the high school "storm"...strange I know!) Carter was excited to dress up as a scout and we struggled, but finally came up with a "rich girl" outfit for Chloe. They had a great time going to school dressed up. Carter is thrilled that he gets to join Cub Scouts this November!!!!
Of course, Chloe loves an opportunity to dress fancy and wear make-up and jewelry!
Carter refused to dress up for nerd day, so I took a picture of his "nerdy" attitude. :)This was our best attempt at being nerdy...I don't think it worked out so well...
Chloe is just too cute! Every day had a theme, but the kids didn't want to dress up like hippies so they chose not to dress up the rest of the week. They just haven't learned how much fun nerd and hippy outfits are!!! I have many pictures from my dress-up nerdy days!
It also hailed today, which was a pretty exciting storm! Hey, maybe the "storm" came in to celebrate homecoming week also!
It really came down fast!

Unwritten

I have heard this song many times, but never listened to the words. Today, as I was driving to a Relief Society Meeting, I listened to the words and felt the truth in them. It was powerful to me! I tried to find the song writer online, but couldn't so I will credit Hilary Weeks the singer.

Unwritten

Every day is another page that's added to my story
Sometimes it's like I see my life open right before me
And more than all the chapters of my life
I'm thankful for what's not in black and white.

For the roads I've never travelled
For the pain I never knew
For the places that you kept me from
Father, I thank you.
For the days that were not wasted
For the years not spent in vain
I'm grateful for the stories that remain...Unwritten.

Through twists and turns, Oh Lord I've learned
Any place I'm going
You're mercy's been with me in always and I could know
And through the miles and all I've seen and done
There's so much you have protected my heart from.

For the roads I've never travelled
For the pain I never knew
For the places that you kept me from
Father, I thank you.
For the days that were not wasted
For the years not spent in vain
I'm grateful for the stories that remain...Unwritten.

From cover to cover
I've been sheltered by your grace
For so long, in so many untold ways.
For the roads I've never travelled
For the pain I never knew
For the places that you kept me from
Father, I thank you.
For the days that were not wasted
For the years not spent in vain
I'm grateful for the stories that remain...Unwritten.

I'm grateful for the stories that remain...Unwritten.

As I listened to this song, so many times, I thought about two very important Fathers in my life. I thought about my earthly father and how he protected me from many earthly pains and sorrows, by the rules he set for me. At times I felt he was unfair by not letting me do some things I wanted to do, especially in my teenage years. While listening to this song, I felt grateful for the rules that kept me safe from so many unnecessary troubles in my life. Stories that could have been written, but weren't, because of his protection.

I also thought about my Heavenly Father and how much he loves me, and each of us for that matter. He has given us roads to travel and paths to follow and he promises protection if we stay on those paths. I continue to feel extremely grateful for his love for me and wonder, for brief moments, where I might be without his watchful eye and protection. Many pages in my story are hard and many more will be, this I am sure, but how grateful I am for the unwritten pains and stories in my life that I have been protected from.

Fathers, I thank you!

Monkey See, Monkey Do

It seems that wherever I go lately, with Mason and Josie, people constantely tell me, "Gee, you have your hands full!" At first I feel a little annoyed and then I realize...I do! Mason is 3 and Josie is nearly 2 and they are both giving me a constant run for my money. (What does that silly phrase mean anyway? I don't seem to have any money once I catch up with these two!)

They copy each other quite well, and they are both very creative with new muscle building and occupational-developmental activities! I can definately say..."Monkey See ~ Monkey Do!" Gotta love the "unders!" (as Mason calls them)
Look...multi-talented! Climbing and opening at the same time!
Josie with her petite-brute strength!
I keep trying to smile because, someday...I just might miss these days!...or so they say!

More of Chloe's Soccer

Here are some more of Chloe's soccer team.
She plays so well and has a lot of fun.

This first picture is of Josie parading around the top of the field
next to the dog park.  The dog park is where people can bring their
dogs and let them run.  Josie and Mason loved to watch the dogs.

I truly love to watch Chloe's facial expressions as she plays.
She really is focused on the game.

Suprise Packages!!!

We love to get suprise packages in the mail! We have received two in the same week, so we decided to make a special "thank you" post so that we could share our excitement with those who sent them! :)

The kids all received a new coloring book from Memaw and they were just the perfect book for each of the kids! See their excited faces! :)
Also, we received a special early Halloween Treat from Uncles Kipp & Lance. These were a HUGE hit! We had to open them right up and taste!Carter thought it would be fun to put the body parts on their body for the picture!
That was a great idea!
Look at Josie's brain!
Mason's nose! (Don't mind the dirty face either...he just finished dinner!)
Chloe's teeth!
Carter's beautiful eyeball!
Oh, the festivities of the holidays are quickly approaching! We can't wait!
A special "Thanks" to Memaw, Kipp & Lance! You really made our week exciting!

Angel Armour

Well, little Mason has been at it again! Today, I was in the kitchen and heard a very loud POP! When I turned around and saw what Mason had done, I panicked. I ran over to him as he held the scissors stuck to the vacuum cord...plugged into the wall. I grabbed him and pushed him away. Then I grabbed the scissors and pulled them off the cord. There was another loud series of popping noises and many sparks that flew in every direction! It about scared me to death and then made me very angry!

Sometimes, I wonder how Mason has lived to see his 3rd birthday! I have heard before that everyone has guardian angels among them...this I believe...I often wonder if Mason has 10 times as many angels as the common person! He has some sort of incredible Angel Armour! He has seemed to escape soooooo many dangerous situations! When Matt got home, he reminded me of the blessing it was that Mason was not electricuted today! This was very dangerous and when you see the big hole in the scissors, I feel grateful that it was the scissors that took the blundt of the shock and not my son!
Now, for me as a mother, does anyone have any great suggestions as to what kind of meds I can take to bring down my anxiety level with this child? He is aging my worrying heart by the day!

There will be prayers of gratitude said tonight for sure!

Slick!

Mason has learned how to comb his own hair! See how well he does!
What a proud little man! There isn't much left of things he can't do! Little Mr. Independent!
