Carter's 5th Grade Ski Trip

Each year the 5th grade students at Morningside Elementary get to go skiing at Magic Mountain.  I volunteered to go and help teach Carter to ski.  Since it has been about 19 years since I went skiing, we felt like we were learning together.  It was a blast, once we got the hang of it!  :)

Carter picked up the basics really quick and passed off on the bunny hill so we ventured off to take our first stroll down a real slope.  We went down Spell Run first and realized quickly that it was a little more than we could handle.  The snow was coming down very thick and eventually realized that we were lost and had to find another way down.  We were pretty nervous about getting to the bottom and Carter thought for sure we were going to die.  He decided he never wanted to go skiing again.  Through many prayers and encouragement, we finally found our way to the bottom of the slope.

Instead of giving up, Carter decided he wanted to go down Wizard Run, which we found out is much better for beginners.  It was perfect and gave us a chance to really practice our skiing skills.  After going down Wizard three times, it was time for us to pack up and go home.  We can't wait to go again!

You were an awesome skiing partner Carter!  So talented!

Matt took the other kids out of school and drove us to the ski slopes.  They all played in the snow while Carter and I were skiing.
We love the snow!!!
